Just a few days after Saturday’s practice run with friends and family, Bay Shore’s newest restaurant, Aria Melanie On The Lake, is opening to the public.
The first dinners will be served Wednesday night, July 7.
Aria Melanie will be open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner starting at 5 p.m. and running to 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Brunch will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The former LakeHouse spot at 240 West Main Street overlooking Lawrence Lake underwent renovations this spring. A rebuilt deck now features a gas fireplace, and a new climate-controlled patio was added.
Owner Fred Mandato said the limited menu he and chef Fabrizio Perinelli offered diners Saturday night went over very well.
“Everyone was raving about the food,” he said. “And it was a beautiful night, so everyone was eating outside too.”
He said the Eggplant Caponata Crostini and Crispy Polenta went over big from the appetizer menu, as did the Pappardelle Allo Zafferano (pasta) and the Specialty Seasoned Fish En Papillote.
“That was red snapper steamed in parchment paper and it was fabulous,” Mandato said.
