Verde Kitchen & Cocktails is once again hitting the bay this summer for a sunset cruise that’s becoming a hugely anticipated night among Verde fans and foodies.
Last year, the inaugural cruise was sold out within minutes of its announcement.
This year, Verde is hitting the water with sister restaurant Coastal Kitchen & Daiquiri Bar, which is anticipating a summer opening at 12 East Main Street.
Both locations are in downtown Bay Shore, but on Aug. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m., staffers will be aboard The Moonchaser cruising out of Captree State Park. (The restaurants will remain open.)
“This event fits both of our brands perfectly and it’s a great way to engage our customers in another setting,” said Verde and Coastal co-owner Anthony Tartaglia. “We don’t have a waterfront restaurant with sweeping views of the water, so we decided to bring our concept to that demographic.”
The night features wine, beer and cocktails, finger foods, as well as DJ Chris Kenny and DJ Theo on the 1s and 2s.
Tartaglia and his co-owner and brother, Andrew Tartaglia, have invited South Shore and South Fork drink purveyors to get in on the fun too. Fire Island Beer Company and Montauk Brewing Company have accepted those invitations, and will have beer and reps on board Aug. 27 as well.
“So everything just seems to fit together perfectly for an end of the summer party,” Anthony said. “We’re still not sure which cocktails we’re going to feature but they’re definitely going to be some of the crowd favorites. It’s hard to serve unlimited drinks to 170 people all at once, so we have to be selective with what we can actually produce. “
