The Fire Island Pirate Festival is heading back to the beach.
The third annual festival runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Aug. 1., and is highlighted by a Pirate and Mermaid Parade, all at Kismet.
There’s also a boat decorating contest at the Kismet Inn Restaurant & Marina, wine, cheese and sprits tastings and the Rum Runner Competition hosted by Surf’s Out and Cruzan Rum.
Kids 3-11 can participate in a treasure hunt, pirate school, pirate tennis or pirate yoga.
The Pirate Festival serves as a fundraiser for the Bohlsen Family Emergency Department at Southside Hospital. There will also be plenty of raffle prizes and giveaways.

Kismet is accessible through the Fire Island Ferries out of Bay Shore.
