The 18th Annual Arts Festival by the Bay kicks off at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 10, and runs to 6 p.m. in Bay Shore.
The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore.
Main Street, from Smith Avenue to Shore Lane, will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 8 a.m. to make way for the artists and vendors. The Town of Islip’s parking meters in downtown Bay Shore will be suspended Sunday as well.
All the food for festival-goers is provided by the local restaurants.
There’s a huge musical component to Arts Fest as well, which each years features bands, orchestras and choirs from the Bay Shore middle and high schools.
Although the festival starts at 11 a.m., students will start performing at 9:40 a.m. (Scroll down for a complete schedule.)
Regional acts include Sweet Adelines, Babylon Chorale, Hibernian Festival Singers and the First Baptist Church of Bay Shore Choir. The groups perform at the Main Street Bandshell. Rock acts perform elsewhere on the street. Scroll down for the full schedule.
There’s also a petting zoo and pony rides.
The 2018 Arts Festival will once again be graced with a special appearance by the historic Oyster Sloop Priscilla, courtesy of the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville.
