One of the premier craft beer events of summer, the Long island Craft Classic, is returning to Heckscher State Park on Saturday, Aug. 11, the organizers announced this week.

“The Long Island Craft Classic is an amazing showcase for local breweries and wineries,” read a statement from Andy Calimano, the owner of Starfish Junction Productions, which runs the event.

The Classic will feature unlimited craft beer samples from local and national breweries, as well as wine and hard ciders.

And Bobbique of Patchogue will be giving away a free barbecue sandwich to each ticket holder.

Aside from the craft beer offerings, Calimano attributed the availability of local wine and hard cider as another reason why the event is universally popular among craft beer fests.

There will also be music from Mystery Play.

This Classic also helps raise money and awareness for two local nonprofits: Kids Need More and Natural Heritage Trust.

VIP admission ($75) starts at 1 p.m. and the gates open for general admission ($55) at 2 p.m. There’s also a designated driver ticket option for $12 per person. Visit the site for more tickets and information.

The Classic runs until 5:30 p.m.

Heckscher State Park is located at 1 Heckscher State Parkway in East Islip, 11730. The park will collect $10 per vehicle for parking. Parking is free for vehicles with a valid NYS Empire Pass.
