Frontier Airlines is launching nonstop service from MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma to Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
Tickets are on sale now for the new service, which will be offered three times weekly beginning April 30, according to Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
“Frontier‘s addition of nonstop service to Raleigh-Durham from ISP is great news for our region,” Carpenter said in a statement. “Offering convenient travel to North Carolina’s Research Triangle of three major universities creates endless opportunities on multiple levels for residents, whether traveling for business, education or leisure, and aligns nicely with our plans for strategic growth for ISP.”
Frontier currently operates flights out of MacArthur to Atlanta, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Fla.
Airport Commissioner Shelley La Rose-Arken said Raleigh-Durham “was one of the top 20 cities that we identified as sought-after destinations for Long Island travelers.”
Long Islanders visit the region often for business and family, she said.
