Scoring buckets will be the second most important thing that happens at these two upcoming girls’ basketball games at Bay Shore High School.

The first is to raise money for cancer research charity William’s Warriors, a non-profit started by a Bay Shore family whose 7-year-old son died of medulloblastoma.

On Monday, Jan. 27, Bay Shore’s junior varsity and varsity teams will be fundraising during their matchups against Bellport High School. The lady Marauders will also be wearing custom shirts with the slogan “Fight like a kid”.

“During the two games, there will be 100-plus raffles to win from,” said Bay Shore varsity assistant coach Caitlin Zowak. “Winners do not have to be present at the games.”

The JV game starts at 4 p.m. with varsity following at 5:45 p.m.

The raffles will be on sale at 3 p.m. with winners being announced at 7 p.m. Some of the prizes include signed sports memorabilia, restaurant gift certificates, weeknight stay at Oheka Castle, tickets to the New York Open, and more.
