The 2020 dates for the Alive by the Bay summer festival series in downtown Bay Shore have been announced.

This year’s dates will be June 30, July 14, July 28 and Aug. 11, all Tuesdays. There is a rain date set for Tuesday, Aug. 18.

The event, ran by the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce Restaurant Committee, is entering its fourth year as a summer series.

“We’re trying to make our event more interactive,” said Mike McElwee, an owner at Local Burger Co., T.J. Finley’s and The Penny Pub, all in Bay Shore.

To do so, this year will feature new additions such as an axe-throwing area, a cigar and bourbon bus, and there’s also a dedicated stage for country music where line dancing will take place.

Along Main Street there will be several stages located at Third Avenue, Fourth Avenue, the Y Boulton Center and the West End stage. The music lineup for Alive by the Bay will be announced in May.

The primary event sponsor is Southside Hospital Northwell Health.

“We couldn’t do anything without Southside,” said Mike McElwee, who helps run the festivals for the restaurant committee.

GreaterBayShore again will be the event’s official media sponsor:
