The annual lighting of the Christmas tree and menorah at Bay Shore’s bandshell will be crowdless in 2020.

That’s because the event will be live streamed due to restrictions on large gatherings.

Typically the lighting ceremony takes place during Bay Shore’s annual Winterfest event, which has been canceled due to the global pandemic.

This year, locals will be able to watch the lighting on Facebook, hosted by Bay Shore Beautification Society.

The festivities happen this Sunday, beginning at 5 p.m.

Leading up to the lights flicking on, there will be musical performances from Bay Shore’s Mallory Morton. There will also be an appearance by Santa on the broadcast.
