GreaterBayShore.com seeks to be the premier community information resource for Bay Shore, Brightwaters and the surrounding hamlets from Robert Moses Causeway to Heckscher State Parkway.
The site has a magazine-style feel, with a focus on quality writing. The emphasis here is on features and community news — as opposed to crime and politics.
Veteran New York journalist Michael White launched his first news website, greaterpatchogue.com, on July 1, 2015, after 15 years in newspapers — and 3 and 1/2 months building the site out of his bedroom. The Greater Bay Shore site launched 11 months later, on June 1, 2016.
Mike is a former New York Post and Daily News reporter. He later served as editor at two of the better weekly newspapers in the country: The Suffolk Times, which covers Southold Town, and the Riverhead News-Review, which covers Riverhead Town.
